Dell E1405 – High Pitch Noise

I am satisfied with my Dell E1405. I have it and been using it since three years ago. It gives me what I need, but as many others, it became "sick" from time to time. For the last four years, I had to change the battery twice, the motherboard twice, the screen twice, the media buttons, the hard drive and CD. Luckily, I purchased an extended four-year warranty. All of the problems were fixed at no charge except the batteries. However, the hassles of calling and staying hours on the line to get a customer service were almost worthless. The price was $2,395, which includes,

Since last week, my laptop starts making a high pitch noise. I am not sure of the cause, but it starts to annoy me and actually giving me headaches from time to time. I have done researches online, but cannot find a solution that will fix my problem. I cannot even imagine of moving all of files, software and settings to a new one. I am an XP person and like to stay with XP. I have tried Windows Vista and Windows 7, but am not convinced. I have more crashes with them in a month than with XP for the last four years. If you know of the right solutions, please leave a comment. It is greatly appreciated.
